Ever since, I have dreamt that ten years from now, I will be a successful journalist delivering messages to thousands of people across the country.A career in journalism motivates me because I love to seek the truth, making social impact, telling stories, and giving voice to the voiceless.I am also inspired by my two mentors:yeye olufunmilola kalejaiye, the formal manager of orisun 89.5 fm and Mrs Adewumi Adekola also known as wunmi Black she is working at OSBC Osogbo radio station.
A career in journalism also inspires me because of its impactful work, strong professional ethics, and the opportunity to engage with different crudience.I choose this career because I have a passion for story telling and writing.I desire to inform and make a positive impact on the society.I also have a strong desire to learn about different subjects and ask important questions.The steps I plan to take to achieve my set goals of becoming a professional journalist includes building essential skills, gaining experience, creating a portfolio, and networking.After completing my secondary school,I have decided to futher my education at Ekiti State University (EKSU) to study mass communication. I thought deeply about my future, and I determined to become one of the world best journalist. The relevant training I hope to get includes: former education, professional certificate courses, online workshops, and industry recognized certifications in journalism ethics,media laws, and digital media.Through internships,I hope to gain hands on experience,learn from professionals, build my portfolio, and get published in print, and show my dedication to the field.
For my personal development,I read journals, magazines, and newspaper regularly.I also practice in class, and many of my classmates know that I speak confidently and perform well like a professional journalist.
The journalist sector faces many challenges such as: maintaining credibility and adapting to technological advancement and ensuring financial sustainability, However by embracing ethical practices adapting innovative solutions, and using modern technologies, journalism can continue to play its vital role in society.
As a journalist,I hope to contribute to society by informing the public, holding leader accountable, providing a platform for public discussion, shaping public opinion, recording history, and promoting understanding among people.A hopeful closing statement for a journalist should show commitment to truth, accuracy, and accountability.
