Essay
My childhood dream is to become a real estate lawyer, also known as convevyancer who specializes in property law, handling transactions related to buying, selling, transferring ownership of properties while ensuring every process is fair, secure and transparent.
A major influence on my career aspiration is a lawyer from my church. I am wowed by his level of intelligence, confidence, respect, interactions and integrity. He ha become a role model to me he has inspired my passion for legal profession.
The process that will help me achieve my goals include getting a Bachelor of law degree(LLB)from an accredited Nigerian university which I have chosen to be Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU). Law program requires 5 years of study, I must successfully complete WAEC, NECO and also meet JAMB requirements in order to gain admission into the university. I will attend a Nigerian Law School (NLS). Which is mandatory for all aspiring lawyers. There,I will undergo training for a duration of one year, get called to the Nigerian bar, complete NYSC, gain legal practical experience as
hands-on-experience is needed in my field, build a professional network consider certifications, seek internship and continue reading books. One of the books I have read to deepen my knowledge about law is “To kill a mocking bird by Harper Lee.”
Currently, one major challenge I face is financial constraint. The legal profession is a long process that requires funds, starting from examination like WAEC and NECO. Obtaining scholarship would greatly boost my morale and confidence. Another challenges I will also face is competitiveness of law profession but consistent studying, I will overcome it. I will turn hobbies and interests into income streams without allowing them to affect my studies.
In conclusion, I will focus on my studies to become a successful real estate lawyer who helps community members navigate complex access to justice, I will provide valuable services and also contribute to infrastructural growth and prosperity. I will create more awareness about my profession and advocate for policies that promote it. I am determined to follow my path towards becoming a skited real estate lawyer.
