Essay

An old adage says” music is life “, that is how music feels to me. Music awakens the life, vigor, passion, aspiration, inner motives of a person. Music sends deep message in the most passionate way to be people ,that is why I will do whatever it takes to achieve my dream as a musician in the nearest future.
I fell in love with music since I was 4 years old. I would listen ,when my mother sings beautiful and heart warming praise and worship song and gospel melodies. As a Christian, it brings me closer to God. Often times, my mother use these heart-melting songs to heal her wounds caused by the many troubles that a bound in the world we live in.
At other times, the music lifts her soul and inspires her toward righteousness. I grew up to know that it works for me the same way it does for my mother and even since, music and I have been inseparable. Furthermore, I some times watch TV programs that promotes healthy competition of gospel music amongst youth and I am most impressed by the way so many youth of our day learn and master the act of playing one or more musical instrument, this even makes music more appealing, inviting and welcoming. In our world today , music, in general has strayed from sending moral messages and has become filledd with vulgar languages and obscene gestures. The music I will promote and I will do more to educate to educate the society, servicing as a modest form of entertainment, and above all, serving as a means of communication and friendship with our maker, the most high God.
After secondary school, I will apply for joint admission and matriculation examination. While waiting for the process of admission, I will enroll in an informal music tutorial to start brushing my knowledge on the use of musical instruments and learning the fundamental or basis of music like running the tonic solfa and any other thing that will make learning music in the highest institution not be a hard nut to crack. When I finally secure admission to learn music in any of the prestigeous tertiary institution in Nigeria, I will give it unrivalved concentration, devotion and commitment. As much as I want to master the act of playing one or more musical instruments, I also want to train my voice as a vocalist so that the melodies of my lips will not only give praises to God but also make people want to dwell in his presence. I look up to mercy chinwo as a mentor and I know that with hard work and full commitment, the sky is just a stepping stone and not a limit.
After the demise of my father, life has not been entirely fair as every parental responsibility include financial responsibility now fall on the shoulder of my mother. I know that it will truly be burdensome for her to take care of me and all my other siblings. God in all his faithfulness has been good to us and on my path, I will also enter any scholarship scheme that will ease the financial burden on my mother, once I win it. It is with this mindset that I will give my all to make sure that in every way that is modest, I achieve this dream singing chants of praise to the glory of God and for the betterment of mankaind. Finally, as a successful musician ones achieved I will also create a friendly platform for teenagers, youths and even adults alike to pursue and achieve their dreams in music.
