Essay

Becoming a musician is fun and exciting if you love music more than anything.
First, start early. Learn to play an instrument like guitar, piano, drum or learn how to sing. You can join music class in school or find a teacher outside.
Practise every day. Even 30 minutes is okay, but never miss a day. Good musicians practise a lot.
Listen to many kinds of music – Afrobeats, hip-hop, gospel, classical – everything! This helps you find your own style.
When you are better, record your songs with your phone or in a small studio. Share them on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or SoundCloud so people can hear you.
Play for people. Start with school shows, church, birthday parties, then look for bigger stages.
You can also join a band or choir to learn from others.
Some musicians go to music school or university, but many big stars like Wizkid or Burna Boy became famous without it. What matters most is talent and hard work.
Never give up. People will say “you can’t make money from music,” but if you keep practising and believing in yourself, one day your song can play on radio and everybody will dance.
