Essay

In the future, I want to become a computer scientist. I have chosen this path because technology is shaping the world rapidly, and I believe computer science holds the key to solving many of society’s challenges. My passion for computers, programming, and innovation has inspired me to pursue this course, and I am confident that it will not only help me achieve personal success but also enable me to give back meaningfully to my community.

As a computer scientist, I will be able to develop software, create useful apps, solve technical problems*, and build systems that improve how people live and work. In today’s world, almost everything depends on computers — from communication and education to healthcare and banking. By gaining skills in areas like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analysis, and software development, I will be in a position to contribute to technological advancement in Nigeria . The benefit of computer science to my society is great. Firstly, I will be able to create job opportunities. By establishing a tech startup or working on digital projects, I can employ others and reduce unemployment. Secondly, I can help improve education through e-learning tools*, apps, and platforms that make learning easier for students, especially in rural areas. Thirdly, I can use my knowledge to solve real-life problems — for example, developing systems that make hospitals more efficient, or helping farmers with technology to increase food production.

Another important benefit is digital awareness and securit*. Many people fall victim to online scams and fraud due to a lack of digital knowledge. As a computer scientist, I can help educate my society on digital safety and develop security systems that protect businesses and individuals.

In conclusion, becoming a computer scientist is not just about working with computers — it is about using my skills to make the world a better place. I want to be someone who not only grows in knowledge but also helps others grow through the power of technology. By choosing computer science, I believe I am choosing a future filled with purpose, innovation, and positive impact on society
